Sexual assault Sinatraa

Former Overwatch MVP turned Valorant professional player Jay ‘Sinatraa’ Won has been accused of sexual assault and emotional manipulation. The accusations are made by Cleo Hernandez, his ex-girlfriend of nine months who took to Twitter and posted a link to a Google document. The document contains written statements, audio files, and text messages that share grim details and explicit accounts of sexual assaults.

Statement

The statement shares a brief outline of Won and Hernandez’s short but abusive nine-month relationship. The statement details how Won committed acts of sexual aggression; the refusal of contraceptives, forcing Hernandez to get an IUD, and more.

Hernandez writes, “Sometimes he’d pretend to be OK with my excuses but then he’d ask just for me to kiss him and I’d say okay and then he just did more and more until we had sex anyways, I’d try and say no again and he’d just push himself on me anyways.

Eventually, I would rather just say yes and lay there until he was done than fight him on the no. [On one occasion] he wanted to have sex, I didn’t have an excuse for why I didn’t want to at the time, so I just let it happen and laid there and stared at the ceiling with him on top of me, his weight crushing my chest. I think about staring up at that ceiling everyday.”

Riot Games & Valorant

Soon after, Riot’s global head of competitive operations for Valorant came in action and released a statement about the launch of the investigation and suspension of Jay Won. Moreover, Won’s current team Los Angeles Sentinels also released a statement confirming Won’s suspension from the team and launching its own investigation.

Won denied the allegations

On the contrary, Won denied the allegations of sexual assault and said, “It is clear from Cleo’s recent post that she recalls our relationship differently than I do. What we do agree on is that it was unhealthy for the both of us. I apologize to Cleo and regret how things ended, but I never assaulted her in any way. I am fully cooperating with the investigations and providing the full audio and video clips Cleo referenced in her post.”
