Blizzard Entertainment’s chief legal officer, Claire Hart, departs after serving more than three years.
Blizzard’s Chief Legal Officer Left Amid ongoing lawsuits. However, her departure couldn’t have come in a more bad time as Blizzard is faced with multiple lawsuits.
Claire Hart announced her departure on her LinkedIn last week. Before joining the company, she worked at Google for more than a decade.
She was hired by Blizzard Entertainment, however, her LinkedIn states that she works for Activision Blizzard and its APAC and China subsidiary.
Her post read, “The past three years have been full of unexpected twists and turns, but I feel honored to have worked with and met so many great people at Blizzard and across the Activision Blizzard businesses.”
The position she left at Blizzard is still vacant and Blizzard has yet to release an official statement after the development. Her departure from the role of a chief legal officer came when Blizzard is faced with multiple lawsuits.
Allegations against Blizzard range from violation of civil rights and equal pay laws. Moreover, there are also allegations against the company over discrimination and sexual harassment of employees at the company.
It all started with the State of California filing a lawsuit back in July. The company later got accused of employee union-busting using coercive means by Communication Workers of America.
The complaint is being handled by the National Labor Relations board. And recently, the US Securities and Exchange also opened up an investigation against the company and subpoenaed Activision, its CEO, and several other senior executives.
Several prominent employees of Activision left the company amid increasing lawsuits. Before Hart, it was the company’s long-standing president J Allen who stepped down as well as SVP of global HR Jesse Meschuk left in August.
