There are multiple spinoffs of the game and more copies are in development. However, other games are set in the PUBG universe like Undawn and the new mobile game PUBG: New State. Pubg Mobile Rumor
Krafton’s informer said that the sequel is in the works and it will maintain the game’s modern setting and stick to realistic gameplay as in the original PUBG. The sequel won’t introduce features of futurism like in other popular games in the battle royale genre.
Moreover, the informer also shared that the developing team working on the sequel consists of original PUBG developers as well as new recruits. Keeping intact the old development team means that Krafton is looking to preserve and recapture the original gameplay and feel of PUBG. Moreover, the addition of new developers indicates that the sequel will introduce new popular features as in other popular games in the genre.
If the rumor turns out to be true, then things would get interesting between PUBG: New State and PUBG 2. Moreover, Krafton will also have to come up with a strategy to initiate a mass migration from PUBG to PUBG 2.
