Genshin Impact $60m
Some games show their supremacy right from the start, and MiHoYo’s Genshin Impact is one of them. This open-world action-adventure grossed more than $60m in its launch week and that only on mobile; App Store and Google Play.
According to the reports published by Sensor Tower, Genshin Impact was the second-highest-grossing title in mobile gaming after Honor of Kongs which grossed $64m in the opening week. Both these games have beaten PUBG mobile which saw $56m in its first week.
As the game is based in China, let’s talk about the figures coming out of Chinese mobile app spending. Genshin Impact brought in $25m in mobile spending on the App Store. And for Google Play, there are no figures as Google Play is not available in China.
Moving on, Japan brought in $17m and the US generated sales of $8million of the total revenue.
Genshin Impact is a big deal, there are some more numbers to crunch, it is arguably the biggest ever launch for a Chinese game title. And the number of mobile downloads in the first four days of the launch were whopping 17million. The game was also launched on PS4 and PC simultaneously with mobile with plans of launching it on other platforms as well in near future.
This game will surely be eye candy for people who love RPGs and open-world games but keep in mind even though Genshin Impact is high-quality but the progression system of this game may turn out to be off-putting for some gamers.
Despite that Genshin Impact is a must-play game; we hope that the huge amount of potential this game has doesn’t go to waste. Stay with our blog to get new updates and information on Genshin Impact. Until then.
