Co-Founder and Ex-CEO of Activision Blizzard Weighed-in on Sexual Harassment Allegations.
Activision Blizzard is feeling a lot of turbulence nowadays over its discriminatory, sexist, and sexually harassing workplace environment. Last week Activision Blizzard got sued by California state over the alleged sexual harassment and gender discrimination.
Several of Activision’s executives came forward and denied the allegations as well as termed the lawsuit as meritless.
However, with additional voices joining in, Activision Blizzard’s co-founder and ex-CEO Mike Morhaime came forward and shared his thoughts. Morhaime shared his letter on social media and directly apologized by saying, “I am extremely sorry that I failed you.”
Mike Morhaime’s letter addresses the issue right away and he says that he read California’s complaint against Activision. He wrote that the content was “very disturbing and difficult to read.” He further wrote that he is “ashamed” and “everything I stood for has been washed away.” He further adds that real people at the company were harmed and women, in particular, had “terrible experiences” at Activision.

Since then he has started a new venture and is working as CEO of a new studio known as Dreamhaven. Morhaime felt the need to address and issue a statement because according to the findings in the lawsuit, several events happened under his tenure. Employees at Dreamhaven must be feeling uncomfortable, to say the least.
Morhaime further wrote that it was his and Blizzard’s senior leadership’s responsibility to provide a safe environment for all employees. Addressing the horrifying experiences faced by women in Blizzard, Morhaime wrote, “I am extremely sorry that I failed you.”
Lastly, Morhaime wrote that he will try his best to use his influence to “help drive positive change and to combat misogyny, discrimination, and harassment wherever I can.”
