Lots of talks lately about the Metaverse. The game developers are announcing lots of new initiatives about Metaverse, but what does this mean for the gamers?
If you are a tech enthusiast and haven’t heard of the term metaverse in the past year or so, you must be living under a rock.
Several major techs, gaming, and social media companies have hopped onto the wagon train of the metaverse. A prime example recently was Zuckerberg’s decision to rename his company to Meta and shift the gears from social media to the metaverse. His decision though seems risky but this shows that how the industry views the metaverse and its future.
So what is in it for the gamers? Do you remember playing the game Second Life? The game enables players to create avatars and live in a mystical virtual world of goths, princesses, orcs, etc.
The game resembles the idea of what meta-verse plans to bring. But metaverse will bring forth an experience much more immersive and diverse with features that will also incorporate social media. Moreover, artists, concerts, and other arts will also move to the virtual world in addition to virtual personal interactions.
The goal is to make a meta-verse where all of the stated experiences and even more will go together in a flawless way.
To make the meta-verse experience richer, VR headsets, glasses, and lenses are being developed that will go hand in hand with the meta-verse. A large number of gaming developers are working on AR to introduce an extra layer of hyper interactivity.
The application is already in place in online casino games where XR Casino is taking the lead.
Though VR and AR headsets are cumbersome and didn’t get a mass adoption like the consoles. However, with tech companies working on it, it may well become a household item in the future.
Meta-verse is the buzzword nowadays and many giant corporations are working on it. We will have to wait to see how things unfold when it comes to the meta-verse.
