In the future metaverse, your avatar will represent your identity.
The idea of metaverse first surfaced in a novel known as Snow Crash written by Neal Stephenson. The idea is intriguing that humans in the form of agents/avatars will interact with each other in a 3D world. This same phenomenon is seen in Ready Player One, where humans enter into a virtual world with their avatars and roam around different dimensions of the metaverse. Crucible is working on the project to provide agents to us to navigate the metaverse.
Moreover, Crucible also eyes to design the application using blockchain and decentralized Web3 protocols to make it more open. The idea is that the metaverse won’t go in the hands of tech giants i.e. behind walled gardens. The CTO and Co-Founder of Crucible said during Gamesbeat Summit, “True openness and an abrupt deviation from the current model of business is going to be really important, the age of owning the network and locking in users is dead.”
As of now, Crucible is a small team of five and trying to raise money for a seed round. Furthermore, the company is also trying to roundup an industry consortium to achieve the idea of an open metaverse. The company hopes to put the Emergence SDK in the testing phase from March. The objective behind the testing phase is to make the software compliant with Unity game engines and Unreal engine.
