The recommitment to Cyberpunk 2077 came during CDPR’s first-quarter financial brief. Kicinski further added that a large batch of developers is still working on the game despite the studio moving to a parallel development system in 2022.

Kicinski said, “We intend to live up to what we promised our gamers in January, while we already see major improvements, a large part of the team continues to work on making sure that Cyberpunk provides even better entertainment to gamers.”

Earlier in April Kicinski assured fans that the studio isn’t abandoning Cyberpunk 2077 and will continue to improve the game. He said, “We are convinced that we can bring the game to such a state that we can be proud of it and therefore successfully sell it for years to come.”

During the Q&A session with the investors of CDPR, Kicinski said that almost half of the developers of the studio are still working on Cyberpunk 2077. The developers are working on the current version as well as the upcoming next-gen edition of the game. While a small-scale team of developers is working on the pre-production phase of unannounced projects. When asked about these projects, Kicinski denied making any statement and said he didn’t want to “pre-announce” anything about the projects.

So, Kacinski said that the studio will move to a full-scale parallel development in 2022 which means the rest of the year will remain quiet. He said, “There are teams, smaller teams, in transformation, preparing to work on such content. Next year is the year when we want to do discrete teams and work full-scale—of course, depending on the project and the different phases on future triple-A content.”
