Middle East Gaming is Worth billions when it comes to the Gaming Industry.
As we already know that Asia is one of the biggest gaming markets in the world. However, other venues in the world are as promising as Asia in terms of technology, esports, and telecom. The combination of these three aspects makes for an ideal place for the gaming industry to flourish. One such location is the Middle East which holds magnificent potential as a gaming market.
In the recent event of Capacity Middle East 2021, panel of experts from the gaming ecosystem, technology, and telecom discussed different opportunities. Lisa Hanson, the president of Niko Partners said, “As we look at the middle east opportunity, it’s helpful to frame it in comparison to Asia and the rest of the world. The technology, games, and trends that we watch in Asia will surely be important and already are emerging as important, in the Middle East.”
The Middle East is a growing and evolving space in terms of gaming and it is expected to grow in coming years. According to the founder and vice chairman of Unreal Bahrain/Bahrain Internet Society, Yousef Buhazza, the gaming sector in the region is expected to reach $6 billion in 2022.

Fortnite alone has been averaged around 40 to 100Mb of data per hour so that’s something that the next generation is always looking for and I believe that the telecom sector in this region is trying to fill those gaps that are required by its customers.”
One of Saudi Arabia’s leading telecom sector’s chief investment and digital officers weighed in and confirmed that Saudi Arabia has committed to invest up to $3.3 billion in the gaming sector. Moreover, he also addressed the issue of latency problem in the region and said that local hosting of foreign servers is also in plans.
With 5G already in place in KSA, Bahrain, and Kuwait, latency won’t pose a big problem either way. The Middle East is surely one of the best upcoming markets for the gaming industry.
