FTX Gaming Acquires Storybook Brawl Developers Good Luck Games.

Cryptocurrency exchange FTX & FTX Gaming makes further progress and expansion into the blockchain video game realm by acquiring Good Luck Games.

For those of you who are not familiar, Good Luck Games is the developer behind the popular fantasy card game namely Storybook Brawl. The game is very well received in the Steam digital market, since last year’s June it has had a rating of “very positive” which is 88% of the total 2200 reviews to its name.

Both companies, FTX, and Good Luck Games were in close contact with each other for several years with an acquisition on the cards.

The deal will now see Good Luck Games becoming a part of FTX, consequently, Storybook Brawl will receive NFT’s. The transition is still in the early stages, only the prototypes are being tested and worked upon as of now.

Talking about the recent acquisition, FTX CEO shared thoughts, “Outside of it being an incredibly fun game our whole office enjoys playing it. We saw an opportunity to be the vanguard for the ethical integration of gaming and crypto transactions in a way that hasn’t yet been done in this space.”

FTX’s expansion into gaming and acquisition of Good Luck Games came in weeks after Steve Sadin’s entry as new Head of Gaming Partnerships.

Previously, Sadin worked for Sega and WB, he also had close contacts with Good Luck Games for almost 20 years. The acquisition may well place Storybook Brawl in the category of Axie Infinity and Splinterlands in near future.

The combination of FTX and Good Luck Games will create a team that has the potential to compete against the best in the business i.e. Axie Infinity.

But is the acquisition by FTX a good one? Despite harsh criticism faced by blockchain gaming companies and studios, FTX’s step to acquire Good Luck Games is in the right direction.

However, FTX Gaming needs to come up with something new that would win the hearts of traditional gamers.
