One such version specially made for low-spec, basic PCs, laptops, and mobile phones is PUBG Lite. The game was originally launched as PUBG Project Thai and had a trial run in Thailand before launching in other territories. The game is playable on machines with low specs and is also easy on space. This feature made PUBG more accessible and playable for players that can’t afford to buy high-end machines. However, now the free-to-play PUBG Lite is slated to shut down on 29th April. The developers didn’t share any reason for this decision.

The notice on PUBG Lite’s official website reads, “We are deeply grateful for the passion and support from the astounding number of PUBG Lite fans that have been with us. During the strenuous times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that PUBG the Lite version was able to provide our fans a fun way to stay safe.”

The notice further reads, “Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to close service after much deliberation and the time has come for our journey to end. We regretfully inform you that the service of PUBG Lite is scheduled to end on April 29th, 2021 (UTC).”

Players can play the game, use the in-game currency system L-COIN, and make in-game spending until the ‘termination time’.
