Activision CEO Responds Amid Employees Walkout and Protest.
Activision Blizzard’s CEO Bobby Kotick has finally come forward and responded to allegations and lawsuit. Kotick reiterated that the company will get its policies reviewed by a law firm known as WilmerHale.
WilmerHale has been commissioned to initiate the review process of Activision Blizzard’s policies. The decision is taken to ensure that the company’s procedure “promotes a respectful and inclusive workplace.”
Stephanie Avakian of WilmerHale will lead the review process which will begin immediately. Avakian is a former director of the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement.
The CEO of Activision Blizzard encouraged its affected employees to reach out to Avakian and her team. The WilmerHale team can be reached at ATVI@wilmerhale.com or 202-247-2725.
Moreover, Kotick also said that the communication between the WilmerHale team and employees will remain confidential. However, Kotick didn’t confirm that if there would be an option for anonymity for employees or not.
On the other hand, Acti-vision Blizzard’s employees staged a walkout last week in protest of the company’s adverse policies. Moreover, WilmerHale law firm is famous for union-busting rather than addressing employees’ issues. In addition to the physical protest and walk out, there was a virtual protest too that took place in World of Warcraft where players conducted a mass logout.

More than 3100 employees also signed an open letter asking for change and accountability of culprits.
With employees as well as the gaming community protesting and demanding change, the onus of responsibility lies on the shoulders of Activisions leadership. But the response from the leadership till now isn’t satisfactory, to say the least.
Moreover, the response and decisions of leadership till now have also been rejected by employees. This could result in a further aggravated position where employees will continue to suffer.
