The best digital game in February 2021

This takes us to the question about the best game in February, the best-selling game by far was the Super Mario 3D World + Bower’s Fury. However, one significant point here is that Nintendo does not share the data of its digital games with GSD, so this achievement of Nintendo is based only on physical sales.

Mario Kart 8: Deluxe and Red Dead Redemption 2

Besides Nintendo, other top sellers also performed pretty well during last month. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe and Red Dead Redemption 2 both witnessed an increase of 58% in sales last month when compared to the previous year. Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares II made their way at No. 11 in the charts and XCOM2 made their way back to the Top Ten.

Moving to consoles

PS5 was the best-selling console of the month across targeted markets which include; France, Benelux, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Nordics, Spain, and the UK. PS5 turned out the top-selling console beating Nintendo Switch by 12%. However, when taken the overall unit sales of consoles, it is up by 84% in February year over year with more than half a million consoles sold.

However, next month’s data will prove interesting as last year the whole world entered the lockdown phase due to COVID-19. Stay with us.
