Ladies and gentlemen, NPD research firm has shared an astounding report on the US consumer spending on games in Q3 of 2020. The report suggests that the consumers spent a colossal $11.2 billion between July and September which shows an increase of 24% when compared to last year’s Q3. NPD is expecting this upward trend and is positive that Q4 will also shatter previous records like Q3.

Worldwide XR Revenues Report Q3 2020 is in! Some interesting insights in a report recently published by SuperData about the revenue generated by XR worldwide in Q3 of 2020. Let’s dig into the report and crunch some numbers, shall we?
Digital Games Spending September 2020! The month of September saw huge success in terms of the digital games market worldwide. According to Super Data, digital games earned a mammoth $10.7B in September 2020, an increase of 14% year over year. When compared to 2019, this year games earned a lot more across all platforms. We can also see a significant increase in mobile game revenues that has gone up by 9%. PC on the other hand has also witnessed an 8% increase but the console earning topped them all by 40%, thanks to all the major titles that hit the market.
Nielsen, Nielsen on the wall, which game is most anticipated in this fall?
Well, who doesn’t know about Nielsen, it is a measurement and analytics firm that has a global reach. Nielsen released a report a couple of days ago about the most anticipated games this fall, and guess what, the three games which we talked about the most; Marvel’s Avengers, Marvel’s Spiderman: Miles Morales, and Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War topped the list.

It is now without any doubt that the global pandemic has influenced many areas, domains, and technologies and the mobile phone industry is of no exception. App Annie is of the view that COVID-19 has “changed consumer behavior on mobile forever.”
DFC Intelligence has shared an eye-popping report that there are more than 3 billion people worldwide that play video games.
That, my fellow gamers, is some serious numbers because Earth has a total population of 8 billion; this means that 40% of the world population is video game consumer of some sort. Another interesting insight this report gives is that the fastest-growing category of video game consumers is on mobile phones.
The report also sheds light on the dedicated gamers; of 3.1 billion people there are approximately 8% who are dedicated console players and this category has the record of highest per-user spending.
